McCain v. Obama: No Contest

I just watched Obama give a rousing, stirring, and I would say historical speech, when all of sudden I was confronted with John McCain mumbling platitudes about big government for consumption by the right wing base.

Well, John, you just keep that act up until November and see how many states you win. Not a lot. You might win Arizona, but that'll be a tossup.

Great graphic, DaveOhDave!

And McPain might as well have drooled into a bowl of oatmeal. Pre-chewed.

There is one way that McCain could beat Obama, and that would be if the Republican party operatives dedicated to keeping any Repub in the WH, no matter what, manages to pull off enough voting/election shenanigans in Texas and Ohio to keep Clinton in the running.

In LA County during our presidential primary, they managed to disenfranchise 700,000 non-partisan voters who cast their votes on stupidly designed, confusing ballots, thus disqualifying their ballots from being counted.

Vote rigging depends on a close election.

The GOP wasn't able to rig the Ohio vote in 2006 because the margin was too wide. When the polls show a 15 point lead in the state, it's hard to explain away a drastic change in the final results.

Re "Vote rigging depends on a close election."

Don't "misunderestimate" the ability of powerful Republican Party operatives to continually revise their strategies to undermine the will of our people, even when elections are not predicted to be close.

Re "a rousing, stirring, and I would say historical speech"

I assume you're referring to his post-Potomac win speech in Madison. Have you deconstructed that speech?! It's brilliant, and shows that he now has the confidence to begin to lead our people to the difficult task of addressing the corporate take-over of our country.

I stayed up late last night and really listened to it, taking lots of notes. Why is it not being regaled by the Corporate Media? Oh right, I just answered my own question by referring to the Corporate Media. The Corporate Media is in his sites, along with the energy industry, the lobbying industry, the war profiteering industry, the scare-America-to-vote-Republican industry, the tax-cuts-for-the-wealthy industry, the industry that profits off of illness and other health conditions, the banking industry, the teaching-to-the-test industry, the television industry, and the video games industry.

He even referred to "my cousin Dick Cheney." Wow! America is ready!

I am even hopeful that his "out of many we are one" rhetoric will transform into our return to the days when our motto was E Pluribus Unum.

I have never, in my 36 years of voting, prayed for a presidential candidate (I was in H.S. during RFK and MLKJrs hey-days.) But I am praying for Obama and Michelle and their two adorable girls. Like I said, never misunderestimate the ability of Republican party operatives.
